COMMERCIAL & COMMUNITY WATER TREATMENT

Water Treatment Designed Around the Application.

Commercial and community water systems can have very different requirements than a typical home. Higher flow rates, changing demand, multiple buildings, challenging source water and the need for reliable operation can all affect how treatment should be configured.

Air & Water works with businesses, facilities, First Nations and communities throughout the Cariboo-Chilcotin to assess water-treatment needs, troubleshoot existing systems and provide practical treatment solutions.

COMMERCIAL & COMMUNITY APPLICATIONS

Different Applications. Different Demands.

Water use can vary considerably from one facility to another. Understanding how and when the water is being used is an important part of determining the appropriate treatment approach.

SYSTEM SIZING

A System Has to Work When the Facility Needs It.

A treatment system may appear to have enough capacity based on average water use but still struggle during periods of high demand. Commercial applications need to consider both how much water is used and how quickly it may be required.

Planning a New Treatment System

Before recommending equipment, we look at the water source, water chemistry, flow requirements, expected usage and what the facility needs the treatment system to accomplish.

Depending on the application, the treatment approach may include multiple treatment stages, parallel equipment, progressive-flow configurations, storage or redundancy.

Having Problems With an Existing System?

An existing treatment system may have adequate equipment but still fail to meet the needs of the facility because of configuration, changing water conditions, increased demand, maintenance issues or equipment performance.

Air & Water can assess existing systems to determine whether it makes practical sense to service, modify, add treatment or replace equipment.

LARGER SYSTEMS

Sometimes One Treatment Tank Isn't the Right Answer.

Larger applications may use multiple treatment vessels, alternating or progressive-flow configurations, parallel treatment trains or redundant equipment to meet flow and operational requirements.

MORE THAN TREATMENT EQUIPMENT

Treatment Equipment Is Only Part of the System.

Treatment equipment is only one part of a water system. Source capacity, storage, pumping, piping, flow requirements, pretreatment, treatment and disinfection can all affect how the overall system performs.

Looking at these factors together helps identify practical treatment requirements and potential limitations before equipment is selected.

First Nations & Community Water Systems

Air & Water works with First Nations and community facilities on a range of water-treatment applications, including rural and remote systems.

In addition to water quality and treatment performance, these projects may need to consider changing demand, available infrastructure, equipment serviceability and how the system will be operated and maintained over time.

UNDERSTAND THE WATER. UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM.

Treatment Decisions Need More Than One Number.

Water analysis helps establish the conditions the treatment equipment will need to address. Combined with information about water use, flow requirements and the treatment objective, it provides a basis for selecting and sizing equipment.

Supporting Commercial & Community Projects

For projects requiring regulatory review, Air & Water can work with owners, plumbers and other project professionals to develop the proposed water-treatment approach, select and size treatment equipment, and prepare treatment layouts and supporting equipment information.

Where required, this information can be provided to the appropriate Health Authority for review. Air & Water can respond to treatment-related questions and revise equipment selections or configurations as the project progresses.

For larger projects, site plumbing and installation are typically completed by the project's plumber or mechanical contractor, while Air & Water supplies, sets up and supports the water-treatment equipment.

COMMERCIAL SERVICE & REPAIR

Keep the System Working.

Air & Water services a wide range of commercial and community water-treatment equipment, including systems we did not originally supply or install.

When problems occur, our first question isn't automatically how to replace the system. We look at what is there, why it isn't performing as expected and whether repairing or modifying it makes practical sense.

LONG-TERM OPERATION

Practical Operation & Maintenance

Treatment performance is only part of the equation. Equipment should also be practical to operate, maintain and service over the life of the system.

Availability of replacement parts, consumables, maintenance requirements and the capabilities of the people operating the system can all influence equipment selection.
